Fall is the bMid-September-October eventsusiest time of the year for reenactors – in the Great Lakes area anyway. Here's the list of events coming up from mid-September through October.

Sept. 12-14, 2025 - Long Run Massacre, Red Orchard Park, 704 Kentucky St. Shelbyville, Kentucky 40065. Hosted by The Painted Stone Settlers. Juried Revolutionary War event, 1770-1785, telling the story of Squire Boone’s station and an impending Indian attack. Friday school day. Saturday public day 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Scouts visit Saturday morning to see the 20 stations from Friday's school day. 2 p.m. reenactment of the 1781 event that history calls the Long Run Massacre and Floyd’s Defeat. Saturday night feast. Sunday church service.

Event for French & Indian Wars (1740-1763), Colonial Period (1764-1774), American Revolution (1775-1783), Young Republic (1796-1811), War of 1812 (1812-1815), and Native Encampment. Set up Thursday evening or Friday with a "food truck festival" Friday for townspeople to watch setup. Food truck on site Saturday and Sunday also. Grounds feature an 1808 log cabin with Rumford fireplace and baking oven, an original 1812 blockhouse and a late 18th/early 19th-century blacksmith/woodworking shop. No camp fee. No merchant fee.
