June 7-8, 2025 - Ohio Valley Frontier Days, Historic Fort Steuben, 120 S. Third St., Steubenville, Ohio 43952. Contact 740-283-1787, info@oldfortsteuben.comFacebook page. In the reconstructed 18th-century fort built on its original site overlooking the Ohio River, reenactors, demonstrators, musicians, storytellers, artists and crafters portray life in 1787. Soldiers shooting and daily life demonstrations, surveyors replicate their tools and techniques for surveying the Ohio frontier. Buildings are open for tours. Blacksmith, candle maker, flintknapper and others who demonstrate early-American skills. Live entertainment from Ohio artists, including Steve Free.

In fall 1812, Native Americans and British allies had captured all the other American forts in the Old Northwest Territory. Now it was Fort Wayne’s turn. Public hours 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

Town also known for its Bavarian heritage, Zehnder’s and Bronner’s provides back drop for the 18th-century event. Battles centered around a fortified hill and a wooden bridge. Canoe race, period dance and ladies tea. Large public attendance. Powder ration, modern bath 24/7, showers, Saturday dinner and food for purchase on site. Set up Friday and stay until Monday to shop in town.
